Trade Counter Assistant x 2  

Basildon, Essex 

Do you have experience as a Trade Counter Assistant and are looking to join a busy distribution centre?

We have an excellent opportunity based in Basildon for a company who distribute multi trade products across the UK.

This is a permanent position with an immediate start and paying a salary of £21,000 basic plus an annual bonus plus bens.


  • Accountable for the serving of all customers entering the trade counter
  • Offering technical advice and recommending products to customers
  • Must be customer focused and able to handle complaints and refunds
  • Arranging picking of customer collections and ensuring the correct customer gets the goods
  • Overseeing Trade Counter displays and working with CM/Marketing to ensure they are replenished and up to date
  • Must be able to work to tight deadlines and work under own initiative
  • Working with money-cards, customer accounts, and streamline machines printing PDQs daily
  • Managing your own tills eliminating shortages
  • Opening and closing the trade counter in line with opening and closing times
  • Use of bespoke in-house CRM

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have exceptional customer service skills with good product knowledge ideally with electrical products
  • Build effective working relationships with customers and other departments
  • Have excellent awareness and responsiveness to sales opportunities
  • Be proactive and friendly who can work as part of a team or on their own initiative

The working week is 42.5hrs. This will include shift working from 7.00 am starts up to 20.00 pm finishes.

Weekends on a rota basis will be included and due to the location own transport is desirable.
