Job Description

The Technical Operations Manager will be a key role in the further evolution of an established and dynamic, scaleup technology business.  Working with technical experts across the business and providing your own creative input into the company technology stack, in order to identify, devise, implement, and project manage technical solutions tailored to their customers’ energy management and building automation needs.

Responsibilities of the Technical Operations Manager role include….

  • Home and field-based Engineering Management – Planning, monitoring and coordinating field project activity and progress, including updates, sign-off, work/resource allocation etc.
  • Provide technical advice and support to colleagues and customers
  • Producing Electrical design solutions and providing creative technical input into quotes and tenders
  • Maintaining relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, and carrying out site-based training and handover demonstrations where required
  • Carrying out site surveys, risk assessments and method statements to ensure field staff are working efficiently and safely. 
  • Oversee and participate in on-site installations for certain key/new clients to ensure they run smoothly
  • Reviewing field engineers’ commissioning reports via web portal
  • Customer administration and sign-off of NICEIC paperwork
  • Support the maintenance of company management systems and ISO accreditations

 

Is this you…?

  • Ideally from a Project Management or Contract Management background, within a relevant sector, e.g. M&E/FM, Building Services, BMS controls etc
  • A good knowledge and competence within Electrical Engineering to 18th Edition, ideally as an NICEIC QS.
  • Electrical design experience
  • Good IT working knowledge, to include MS Office (Excel, Word etc) and web-based systems.
  • Ideally with a knowledge of supporting the maintenance of accreditations (e.g. ISOs, NICEIC, RISQS)
  • Ideally IOSH certified
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Methodical, problem-solving approach
  • Good organisational skills including the ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines on multiple projects running concurrently
  • Ability to lead, manage, and motivate as part of a compact, high performing team
  • Ideally a driver, located in the Central UK/Midlands region, and able to carry out work both from a home office (equipment provided) and on-site at UK customer locations.
