Technical Operations Manager (Electrical)

Job Description

Have you coordinated/managed field projects between £1m-£3m?

Do you have commercial electrical knowledge/qualifications and a creative flair for technical solutions?

Can you work permanently in the South Essex area?

 

This will be a key role in the evolution and success of the company.  Working with technical experts across the business and providing your own creative input into the company technology stack, in order to identify, devise, implement, and project manage technical solutions tailored to their customers’ energy management and building automation needs. 

 

Responsibilities of the role include….

 

  • Engineering Management - Monitoring and coordinating project activity and progress, including updates, sign-off, work/resource allocation etc.
  • Provide technical advice and support to colleagues and customers
  • Providing creative technical input into quotes and tenders in support of sales activity
  • Maintaining relationships with suppliers
  • Dealing with any technical queries to support internal teams regarding specific customer sites or service provision
  • Carrying out surveys, risk assessments and method statements as required to ensure field staff are working efficiently and safely.
  • Assist in the development of internal systems and processes, including a new CRM system
  • Work with and support the maintenance of company management systems and accreditations

 

Is this you…?

 

  • Ideally from an M&E/Building Services Project Management or Contract Management background
  • A good knowledge and competence within Electrical Engineering in order to provide the necessary technical input and understanding
  • Good IT working knowledge, to include Microsoft office programmes.
  • Relevant qualification within Building Services, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience of Project Management, for field-based projects between £1m and £3m
  • Ideally with a knowledge of supporting the maintenance of accreditations (e.g. ISOs, NICEIC, RISQS)
  • Ideally with IOSH
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Methodical, problem-solving approach
  • Good organisational skills including the ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines and to work on several projects at the same time
  • Ability to lead, manage and motivate as part of a high performing team
  • Ideally a driver, able to commute daily to Leigh on Sea, and on occasion to visit UK customer sites if required.

 

Salary/benefits

 

  • Annual salary up to circa £45k (negotiable dependent on experience). 
  • Additional bonus to be based on personal and company performance/success 
  • Normal weekday hours, Mon-Fri (9am-5pm)
