Sheet Metal Fabricator

Basildon

Monday – Friday 8.00am – 5.00pm

Pay £ 14.00 per hour plus excellent benefits and overtime opportunities

Role:

Responsible for manufacturing bespoke items of metalwork to a high standard of quality and accuracy and to ensure our Clients commitment to complete every project on time and on budget, maintaining the preferred status with all the projects it undertakes is maintained.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring metal components are fabricated to the exact specification as detailed on the production drawings, you will need to be both an effective communicator and team player with exceptional attention to detail.

 

Competent in the use hand tools, power tools and the following machinery:

  • Brake Press
  • Turret Miller
  • Lathe
  • Guillotine

 

Experienced and skilled in the following processes:

  • Cutting and Folding Sheet Materials
  • Finishing Sheet materials and Sections
  • Forming Sheet material
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings

 

Duties: -

 

To manufacture, assemble metal components to achieve specification set out within the production drawings, ensuring quality of product is consistently achieved to meet their client’s expectations.

  • To ensure all production documentation is correct with regards associated components including fittings and finishes
  • To communicate and report any construction / design issues to your supervisor as they occur
  • To report faulty or damaged equipment to your supervisor as soon as it identified
  • To aid with the resolution of construction / design issues, which have been identified within the process of manufacture
  • To ensure metal components are produced to the required standards
  • To collate all manufactured components and clearly label / account for all items required, prior to issuing to either dispatch or next department for processing
  • To be responsible for ensuring adequate protection is applied where necessary throughout the manufacturing processing and prior to dispatch
  • To notify the Metalwork Foreman when current stock levels are depleting
  • To maintain open and effective communication with colleagues at all levels responsible for positively contributing to a safe work environment, ensure compliance with relevant statutory regulations, company policies and quality standards
  • Complete all mandatory Health & Safety training and corporate refresher training where required
  • Ensure safe working practices are adhered to and appropriate PPE is worn
  • Ensure full understanding to the General Data Protection Regulations
  • Ensure full understanding and adherence to other relevant statutory regulations
  • Maintain good housekeeping ensuring yourself and work colleagues are always operating in an efficient, tidy, and safe working environment
  • Provide support and assistance to the Metal Work Manager / Supervisor as and when required
