Buyer/Senior Stock Controller

The Senior Stock Controller will be reporting directly to the Commercial Director, with oversight on the efficiencies, usage and demand of existing and new purchases across production activities.

The purpose of this position is to evaluate procurement requests of product for use within production in order to assess efficiencies prior to purchasing.

Will require a good understanding of stock levels through warehouse coordination, ERP usage for stock monitoring accuracy, liaising with Material, Planning and Logistics personnel to measure requirements according to customer demand and working with the Commercial/Purchasing team to find efficiencies on supply chain terms of purchase.

The Stock Control Analyst will work closely with all departments, particularly Commercial, MP&L and Finance to provide a continual flow of communication between all involved to evaluate and identify improvements to ultimately reduce stock holding, perform corrective actions against stock ordering and broaden flexibility within the supply chain.


  • Ensure that product availability targets are met through pro-active stock and inventory management.
  • Drive business efficiencies through corrective actions on stock ordering to reduce stock holding.
  • Provide Inventory/ Stock support on business initiatives, working with account managers, customer services and procurement teams, streamlining processes and reducing any financial liability to the company.
  • Maintain product and stock pricing records to ensure accuracy of product stock information.
  • Provide monthly reports to support key performance indicators.
  • Work closely with MP&L (Material Planning and Logistics) Teams to monitor stock levels.
  • Reviewing of Purchase Orders, working with other departments to align costs and timings based on commercial forecast, New Product Introduction and demand forecasts.
  • Monitoring of supply chains to maintain supply and overcome barriers to supply, ensure timely delivery.
  • Review of costs to obtain savings, evaluating orders and volumes to find opportunities.
  • Manage inventory levels based on established supply strategy, goals, and related products.
  • Work closely with production planners and operations supervisors on situations which require follow up and also help facilitate alternative plans when necessary.
  • Perform other duties within the scope of job assignment, as required.
  • Work with necessary personnel and departments to maintain ISO certification.
  • Researching new suppliers to achieve cost savings, targeting new opportunities.
  • All relevant audit preparation work to meet ISO standards.


  • Previous experience.
  • Previous experience desirable of using ERP systems for raising orders/supplier admin.
  • Confident user of MS Office suite particularly Excel.
