Senior Buyer – Service (Interim) Maternity Cover

Are you an experienced Senior Buyer looking for a new opportunity?

My client based in Theale, Berkshire is looking for an experienced Senior Buyer to join their team covering maternity leave.  You must have strong previous experience with data management, procurement, supply chain and be CIPS qualified (or working towards)

Responsibilities

  • Support the Procurement Service Manager (PSM) to deliver profitable external service contracts and parts buying for biomedical and endoscopy equipment
  • Lead negotiations of pricing and terms of maintenance contracts
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of POs
  • Ensure that maintenance contracts records are accurately maintained
  • Support operational activities for the responsible account
  • Identify potential saving opportunities on service contracts
  • Reporting to PSM on savings and cost avoidance achieved
  • Within agreed limits, it is expected that you will have a high degree of autonomy over your tasks

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensuring external contract cover is placed on time, to agreed specification and generates agreed margin
  • Assisting the Procurement Service Manager to performance manage contract output to ensure quality and VfM
  • Ensuring contracts are managed and parts are procured in line with requirements from engineering operations

Performance Indicators

  • Contract accuracy and record keeping
  • On-time contracting
  • On-time parts buying
  • On-time delivery of agreed performance reporting

Experience and Skills

  • CIPS 3 or 4, qualified or working towards
  • At least 2 years procurement experience within an integrated supply chain, including service and material management
  • Experience in Cost Management, SRM and Performance Improvement
  • Experience and skilled in data management using excel and database tools
  • Knowledge and experience of medical devices and/or endoscopy devices an advantage
  • Experience of managing, negotiating and monitoring contracts
  • Proven ability to work successfully in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary environment
  • Appreciation of whole life cost management an advantage
  • Appreciation of engineering operations an advantage
