What does the opportunity offer?

  • Permanent opportunity 
  • £18,636 starting salary
  • 38.25 hour week, including early finish on Friday
  • Hours: Mon-Thu: 8.30am-5pm, Fri: 8.30am-3.45pm (45 min daily lunch break)

  • 30 days holiday (22 days plus bank hols) with additional holidays for length of service (up to a maximum of 27 days plus public holidays)

This is a permanent Product Assessor opportunity with an established importer of an extensive range of fast-moving consumer goods (FCMG), who distribute to customers in the UK, Europe and the Middle East.


The Product Assessor role/responsibilities include:

  • Carry out product compliance assessments
  • Determine nature and intended use of products
  • Identify compliance category
  • Identify regulations and standards applicable to the product
  • Identify potential compliance shortcomings
  • Specify appropriate requirements, including labelling and instructions for safe use
  • Liaise with colleagues to implement requirements
  • Determination for third-party testing
  • Assisting with other areas of the Company’s product inspection procedures including stock arrivals


Is this you? 

  • PC literate with a good standard of written and spoken English.
  • An ability to record and communicate observations clearly and succinctly.
  • Able to work largely unsupervised, with access to support from department management and advisors if required.
  • Able to follow procedures, whilst maintaining and contributing to quality awareness within the department.
  • Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the necessity for product quality and safety compliance
  • A high level of tenacity in ensuring product quality and safety
  • An ability to use measuring tools and be able to read, understand and apply technical requirements
  • Good time management when completing required tasks
