Mechanical Fitter (shift) – Permanent/Full Time - £16.11 per hour / circa £47k per annum

 

Are you an experienced time-served Mechanical Fitter?

Do you have a good broad knowledge of the maintenance, service and repair of industrial pumps, rotating machinery etc?

Are you a driver able to work days/nights/weekdays/weekends on a rota in the Grays/Thurrock area?

  • Competitive hourly flat rate of £16.11 per hour (circa £47k per annum)
  • Full time shift hours on a 3-week rota (Days/Nights) – average 56 per week

An established and successful industrial business with a presence in several regional locations around the UK has an excellent permanent opportunity for an experienced and motivated Shift Mechanical Fitter in Essex. 

 

The role/responsibilities include:

 

  • Carry out mechanical fitting work efficiently in accordance with quality and safety standards.
  • Work effectively within the engineering team, including stripping down, maintenance and repairs of mechanical systems and industrial process machinery
  • Diagnose and replace malfunctioning parts and equipment
  • Routine checking of all types of mechanical systems, equipment and components

 

Is this you?

 

  • Proven experience within an industrial mechanical fitting role, including stripping and repairing pumps (centrifugal, PD etc), rotating machinery, pipefitting (metal and plastic) etc
  • Having relevant mechanical engineering/technical qualifications or certifications (e.g. NVQ, C&G, ONC/HNC etc)
  • Happy to work indoors and outdoors in all weathers
  • Good knowledge of fault finding/troubleshooting and understanding of engineering drawings.
  • Health and safety at work, ability to identify hazards, safe working requirements and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to work permanently in the Grays/Thurrock area
  • Happy to work full time and on a shift rota basis (days/nights/weekdays/weekends – details available)
  • Ideally a driver with transport due to location.
