Job Description

IT INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER

Working alongside the IT Manager, the IT Infrastructure Engineer will be designing, building, deploying and maintaining the IT infrastructure. This will involve maintaining servers and networking devices, proactively detecting, and fixing any potential or actual issues to ensure the company is able to operate to its requirements.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Maintain VPN, SD-WAN, firewalls and network security across all company sites
  • Maintain servers, and other IT hardware across all sites
  • Proactive planning, support and organising to be flexible and adaptable in meeting the changing needs of the organisation
  • Troubleshoot server, switch and other network component performance and make recommendations
  • Backup and replication management and disaster recovery
  • Respond to infrastructure alerts
  • Travel to other sites to maintain, upgrade, migrate networks
  • Designing, building, deploying and maintaining the IT infrastructure
  • Manage and complete various IT projects

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • VMWare and virtualization
  • Working in a 3rd Line Infrastructure role
  • Active Directory (including on prem AD services such as DNS, DHCP, RADIUS etc)
  • Windows Server OS management/upgrades/migration
  • Enterprise hardware such as virtual hosts, SAN's etc
  • Exchange 2013+
  • AWS (however any cloud services will be advantageous
  • Office 365
  • Experience of managing firewalls, routers, switches and other network infrastructure
  • Knowledge of network principals TCP/IP, ports, VLAN's etc
  • Full, clean UK driving licence
  • Passport for international travel
  • Ability and enthusiastic approach to pick up new technologies and learn them with a can-do approach
  • Candidates must be able to work independently while collaborating in a team environment, plus be able to work under pressure and to deadlines

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

  • SQL
  • IT security standards (ISO, NIST)
  • Understanding and experience of ITIL and project management methodologies 

 

Job Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday. Early finish on Fridays (1.00pm). 

Salary: Up to £42,000.00 per year
