Are you a qualified 18th Edition Industrial Electrician?

Do you have a good knowledge of the installation and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment (motors, instrumentation, panels, power and lighting etc)?

Are you a driver able to work permanently in the Thurrock (Essex) area? 

Are you happy to work a 3-week shift rota across days/nights/weekdays/weekends?

An established and successful business with a presence in several regional locations around the UK, require a Shift Electrician to work on a permanent, full time basis at their industrial site in the Grays/Thurrock area. 

 

The role/responsibilities include:

  • Carry out electrical installation work efficiently in accordance with IET Wiring Regulations for Electrical Installations (BS7671:2018).
  • Work within the electrical team, including installation and maintenance/repair of electrical systems and equipment (motors, instrumentation, panels, power and lighting etc).
  • Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus including LV Circuits, Electrical motors, power and lighting, using test equipment.
  • Routine checking and testing of all types of electrical systems, equipment and components.

 

Is this you?

  • Good knowledge of fault finding/trouble shooting electrical systems, and the interpretation of electrical drawings and schematics.
  • A willingness and availability to work a 3-week rotating shift pattern (an average of 56 hours per week).
  • Good knowledge of electrical systems and equipment including variable speed drives, motors, instrumentation, controls/panels and electromechanical systems.
  • Ability to work effectively and safely, both independently and as part a team.
  • Ability to identify hazards, safe working requirements and procedures.
  • A relevant Electrical NVQ Level 3 or BTEC national certificate in Electrical Engineering
  • Ideally having completed a recognized electrical apprenticeship.
  • BS7671 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulation
  • Driver with transport, able to work permanently in the Grays/Thurrock area
