Electronics Repair Technician

£30,000 to £35,000

Theale, Berkshire

Are you an experienced Electronics Repair Technician and have a minimum of 5-7 years’ experience?

We have an exciting opportunity for a technician who wants to associate with healthcare technologies such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), MRI RF Coils, X-ray, CT systems and Ultrasound. You will be part of an electronics laboratory team that mainly deals with a wide variety of electrical devices that reach the lab for electrical repair. These devices can be power supply units (PSU), RF power amplifiers (RFPA), RF coils, IT or other. You must be someone with an inquisitive mind looking to understand how a device functions and not only replace components under given instructions. You will receive training where needed and you will be required to obtain certifications relevant to our operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Repair power supply units (PSU), RF power amplifiers (RFPA) and other electrical devices
  • Source documentation, schematics, components and follow manufacturer’s procedures
  • Perform repair risk assessment and quality assurance
  • Work as part of a bigger team of operations including customer service, field engineers, warehouse etc
  • Report to the manager of the repair operations
  • Always ensure compliance with ISO, medical devices regulations, and follow health and safety rules

Candidate Requirements

  • 5 – 7 years’ experience in testing, troubleshooting, and repairing power supply units or RF power amplifiers or both
  • Experience in reverse engineering electronic de-vices, able to work without original schematics
  • Degree in electrical or electronics engineering. BSc, HNC, HND, Military training
  • Mechanical workshop experience an advantage
  • Computer aided design experience an advantage

Salary and Benefits

  • £30,000 to £35,000
  • Royal London Pension Scheme – 3% EE contribution and 5% ER contribution
  • Death In Service Scheme after 6-month probation – 4 times salary
